Description
The Severin Sea Lodge is an oasis of peace and relaxation in the midst of an extensive palm garden and located directly on the white Bamburi Beach. The hotel is lovingly designed in traditional African architectural style. With its own solar panels as well as its own organic farm, the hotel emphasizes sustainable tourism.
Location
The lodge is located on Bamburi Beach directly on the Indian Ocean. With the sandy beach on one side and the African bush on the other, you are greeted by a dreamlike vacation environment. The vibrant port city of Mombasa is only twelve kilometers away from the hotel. The airport is 20 kilometers away and can be reached by car in about 30 minutes. Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya and famous for the Fort Jesus and the Elephant Tusks.
Hotel facilities
The hotel complex is lovingly designed in traditional African style: The round bungalows, the main building and the two swimming pools are harmoniously embedded in a spacious palm garden. It also has a communal lounge/TV area, roof terrace, sun terrace, pool "Kisima Pool": with water slide, pool "Safari Pool", souvenir store, mini market, boutique, jeweler, hairdresser, doctor (English), WLAN/WiFi throughout the hotel, Internet cafe as well as laundry service.
Rooms
The rooms are equipped with handmade wooden furniture and decorated in a stylish natural design. Severin Sea Lodge has 188 hotel rooms divided into different categories: the comfortable Karibu Class rooms in traditional Arabian style and the luxurious Comfort Class rooms and suites with handmade Lamu furniture. All rooms and suites offer air conditioning, mosquito nets, anti-allergy bedding, telephone, Wi-Fi access, hairdryer and toiletries, in-room safe, dressing table, room service and wake-up service and 1/2 liter bottle of mineral water per person per day.
Comfort Class Bungalow
The rooms have a bathroom with spacious walk-in shower, ceiling fan, plasma flat screen TVs with large monitor and multi-channel TV selection, coffee and tea making facilities,mini bar, sitting area, balcony or terrace.
For an occupancy of 3 persons (2 adults and 1 child), they will be accommodated in the standard room with an extra bed.
Board
Severin Sea Lodge is known for its excellent cuisine and friendly and attentive service. Great emphasis is placed on fresh and high quality food. Vegetables and fruits are organically grown on the Seba farm.

There are two restaurants. Main restaurant: cuisine: international, Italian, Mediterranean, regional, fish/seafood, grilled dishes, organic food, dietary cuisine, gluten-free dishes, children's menu, lactose-free dishes, light dishes, seasonal dishes, vegetarian dishes, vegan dishes, wholefoods, buffet, choice of menu, show cooking, afternoon tea, with terrace, by the pool, children's high chair, appropriate attire requested. Restaurant "Imani Dhow": daily, cuisine: fish/seafood, grilled dishes, à la carte, appropriate attire required.
Sports & Wellness
A varied entertainment program awaits you in the evenings. It ranges from performances by African bands to fashion shows and acrobatic performances to traditional African folklore dances and stylishly staged candlelight & gala dinners with international and African themes.
Sports facilities:
There are two pools at the lodge with Jacuzzi and counter-current respectively.
Free of charge: fitness room, aerobics, aqua fitness, weight training, spinning/indoor cycling, step aerobics, archery, volleyball, beach volleyball.
For a fee (partly third-party services): Cycling, tennis: floodlight, kitesurfing, catamaran, windsurfing, glass bottom boat,PADI diving school, snorkeling, golf course "Nyali Golf Course", 18 holes.
Excursions (for a fee): To really get to know Kenya with its magnificent landscape and unique flora and fauna, the lodge offers exciting excursions and safaris with impressive experiences. By safari minibus, four-wheel drive vehicle or airplane you can discover Kenya's most beautiful parts of the country. A must for all nature lovers! Notes
Renovation work is currently taking place in some bungalows, probably until 30.06.2024, which may result in construction noise.
For 42 euros per person, a transfer from the airport is offered by the hotel. You can book it through the service center at service@meinpep.de.
The special rates are granted once for stays within 24 months.
The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) has been required for travel to Kenya since 05.01.2024.
