Day 1: Arrival
Individual arrival at the hotel in Reykjavík.
Day 2: Golden Circle
The first stage of today's tour takes you to Þingvellir National Park, which is both historically important for the Icelanders and also geologically very interesting. The journey then continues to the famous geyser area in the Haukadalur valley, where the "Old Geyser", the worldwide namesake for fountains, is mostly dormant, but the smaller spring "Strokkur" regularly shoots boiling hot fountains into the sky. The Gullfoss waterfall, also known as the "golden waterfall", awaits you in the immediate vicinity. After a visit to a horse farm, where you can get to know the famous Icelandic horses, you can taste the juicy greenhouse tomatoes before you reach the coast and visit the lava centre in Hvolsvöllur. Here, you will get an interactive insight into the world of volcanoes and learn how the island was formed, including a first-hand experience of an earthquake. Finally, the journey continues to Vík, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Glacial Lagoon
Today's destination takes you to the fascinating Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where icebergs more than a thousand years old float in the water after breaking off from a glacier tongue. This glacial lake has served as a setting for many renowned film productions. In winter, numerous seals gather at the entrance of the lagoon to catch fish, creating an impressive sight. On the way back, you will visit Skaftafell National Park before spending the night in Vík as on the previous day.
Day 4: Volcanoes and Waterfalls
During the return trip along the south coast to Reykjavík, you will visit the waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. You will pass the glacier Mýrdalsjökull/Katla and the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. The adventure ends at the unique natural phenomenon, the Blue Lagoon. Here you will have the opportunity to relax in the mineral rich warm water under the open sky (included in the price). In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Reykjavík and spend the night at Hotel Klettur.
